Finding abundance in midlife.

Hi, I'm Briana Cady, wife of 20 years and working mom to three teenagers. Over the years I've often found myself describing my life as chaotic and out of control, which led to frustration, resentment, and discontentment. There are still moments when those feelings creep back in, but I've found myself on a journey out of the chaos and into abundance, and I'd love for you to join me.

This Blog Has a Heartbeat

The vision behind everything here is rooted in a single word: Zoe.

Zoe (pronounced dzo-ay) is a New Testament Greek word for life - "life real and genuine, a life active and vigorous, devoted to God." I like to sum it up simply as abundant life.

I'm here to be real and genuine. Fighting through the chaos into a life full of joy in the Lord. Here, you may find ways to help simplify your life, or just find a good laugh, but it isn't really about self-improvement or self-optimization. It's about something better- self-forgetfulness that grows from a pure delight in Jesus. Living life with God, hungering and thirsting after Him. When we do this it activates us to care for the world He so dearly loves.

And you, friend, are part of that creation.

Why Physical Health Belongs Here

Just as we care for our spiritual health, we're called to care for our physical health, not for self-serving purposes like hitting a certain body fat percentage or living up to a cultural beauty standard, but so we can fully live into the purposes God has set out for us.

We are made for embodied life: to care for our bodies and for others, to show up physically present in our relationships, to find joy in movement and play even in adulthood, and to engage in embodied spiritual practices like fasting, praying, singing, kneeling, serving, and dancing. When we steward our bodies well, we can care for and serve others beyond what we ever thought possible.

What You'll Find Here

A midlife working mom's journey (the good and bad), with tips for physical health, spiritual encouragement, and practical tools for living an abundant midlife. Written by someone with a fitness certification and physical education background, a very full house, and more questions than answers. I haven't figured it all out, but I'm convinced of this: God's best for you isn't behind you.

I'm so glad you're here. Let's do this together.

"Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think." — Ephesians 3:20 NLT
